Drama Workshop Days

Arts Award

After School Clubs

I am qualified to deliver a range of experiences for your your school or community group. Below are examples of projects I could run, but an essential part of my work is that I am client-led. Drama is an invaluable tool that can aid cross-curricular learning, in developing confidence and social skills. Every one of my participatory programmes is designed to be bespoke to your needs. If you are interested in booking a day inspired by one of the example packages below - or you have a unique idea to discuss, please email me.

Workshop Days

An morning, afternoon, or whole day of drama activities, delivered for groups of up to 35 at a time.

Example 1: Core values

Many schools have core values that they encourage students to embody, often including Respect, Kindness, Responsibility etc. I can assign a core value to each year group, and develop a workshop that explores this core value through storytelling, role play, and drama activities. The aim is to use the value as a stimulus, and develop fun and creative responses. This links particularly to the elements in the National Curriculum for drama that require young people to draw on real life experiences to develop creative responses and narrative work.

Example 2: Curriculum

Working with each class teacher, I can develop a workshop based around current topic work. Literacy, Comprehension, and even History, Geography, or R.E. can lend themselves brilliantly to theatrical exploration. The aim of this day is to enhance in-class learning with a multi-disciplinary approach. This responds to the National Curriculum requirements assessing a child’s ability to enter into the drama world physically, emotionally and intellectually, as well as enabling children to develop empathy with, and understanding of, other people.

Option 3: Drama Skills

For this example, I would pick an age-appropriate drama skill (Character building, soundscapes, understanding consequence through chronological narrative) and this is what I would teach. These workshops focus particularly on enabling children to become drama-literate, to develop the social skills needed to interact openly, honestly and playfully with others, and to encourage personal adaptability, spontaneity, co-operation, verbal skills, non-verbal skills, imagination and creativity.

Example 4: Arts Award Taster (full day booking only)

The Arts Award encourages young people to gain leadership skills through cultural activity. Over a day, I will deliver a taster of the full Arts Award programme: discussing local artists who inspire us, learning new creative skills, and even planning a mini cultural project. Whether you want your young people to experience the Arts Award before signing up to complete the qualification, or just want to gain some of the benefits the programme offers - this taster is a cost-effective option for your organisation.
